BlackRock Financial Management, Inc. is hiring a Vice President, Senior Financial Engineer in San Francisco, CA. Duties include working with researchers and portfolio managers to implement and develop predictive trading signals and models used for making investment decisions. Identify and utilize new alpha-enabling data and analytics technology in signal implementation. Develop data and analytics REST APIs using cloud native architecture stack. Evaluate and integrate with third party cloud native analytics and data solutions. Partner with other engineering and partner teams at BlackRock to integrate with Aladdin. Identify and implement ways to improve the efficiency of our alpha quant product and platform. Work in close collaboration with both our Product Managers and Portfolio Managers to support and evolve our products and processes.
Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelors degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, or a related field; and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a related occupation working in data analytics in the trading and investment domains. Requires 5 years of experience involving each of the following: 1. Working in data analytics in the trading and investment domains in market, tick data and post trade analytics. Experience working with and integrating with popular financial datasets from vendors such as Refinitiv, TradeWeb, MarketAxxes and across broad asset classes such as equities, derivatives, fixed income and FX; 2. Programming languages such as Java, C++, and scripting languages such as Python, SQL and Perl for building scripts, APIs, and applications; 3. Data warehousing, data engineering, databases, and cloud data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks; 4. Participating in and leading scrum ceremonies in an Agile environment; 5. Experience with dev ops tools like Git, Maven, or Azure DevOps for implementing SDLC concerns of building, testing and CI/CD of software.
