ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is looking for a Lead Engineer. The Union Lead Engineer is responsible for all activities related to the maintenance and repair of all mechanical systems within a property. The duties may include the maintenance and operations of HVACR equipment and controls. Other systems may include chilled water systems, boilers, refrigeration systems and other mechanical or electrical building systems. The Engineer must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned. Essential functions include providing supervision and engineering support for a wide range of building systems, maintenance programs, and daily operational engineering functions in a life science environment. The candidate must have prior experience working in a healthcare or life science environment and be able to understand the operations as it relates to any regulatory and other state or local requirements. The Engineer must follow safe practices and comply with company and regulatory standards, and be qualified to operate or assist in operating all heating and ventilating equipment, engines, turbines, motors, combustion engines, pumps, air compressors, ice and refrigerating machines, air conditioning units, fans and siphons on the site assigned. The Engineer must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks as assigned and work with both internal and external customers on technical issues, work scope recommendations and failure investigations. The Engineer could work in a variety of engineering departments based on current needs. Responsibilities include providing engineering support for a wide range of systems, maintenance programs, engines as well as operational engineering functions, understanding, analyzing and seeking solutions to the design, operation, maintenance, performance or repair of vehicles/equipment and their components, logically approaching problem solving, defining a maintenance program or configuration and ensuring a safe and legal operation, reviewing service bulletins from manufacture or component manufacture, developing solutions and implementation plans, project justification, cost/benefit analysis, and overall management of project implementation and coordinate warranty recovery on service bulletins that are applicable, organizing and managing the priorities for assigned responsibilities and accomplishing the work process to meet all deliverables for projects as well as maintenance program changes and technical specification revisions, and coordinating work with other operational groups to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, operational reliability and operational efficiency. Qualifications include entry level to 4+ years of engineering experience and engineering skill sets which can be applied to a range of systems, maintenance programs and engines. The Union Lead Building Engineer performs scheduled maintenance, safety inspections and repairs to varying types of equipment. Pay is $57.49 per hour. The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant's experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. The schedule is swing, Tuesday-Friday: 2pm – 10pm and Saturday: 6am – 2pm. ABM offers a comprehensive benefits package.
