 
                                                
                                            In this role, you will be responsible for creating comprehensive test plans and collaborating with the test technology team to ensure the proper setup of enclosures and battery devices with sensors. As the test execution phase approaches, you will join the team onsite to ensure smooth operations. Responsibilities include understanding product risks and collaborating with design and modeling teams to create detailed test plans. You will own test planning activities such as sensor instrumentation and data acquisition while coordinating with program managers and technicians in build and test teams. Conduct tests safely and ensure they adhere to the design intent and failure modes. Analyze thermal and electrical data, review video footage, and present test results to stakeholders. Implement and execute ideas to enhance the efficiency and quality of energy product thermal testing. Interpret regulations and adjust test setups and results accordingly.
Essential Skills include proficiency with sensors including temperature, pressure, heat flux, voltage, and current. Experience with data acquisition tools, with a preference for LabVIEW. Strong skills in data analysis using Matlab or Python. Five or more years of experience in grid-scale energy compliance and thermal testing. Hands-on experience with physical assembly, electrical wiring, and troubleshooting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications include a degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on physics and heat transfer. A master's or PhD is preferred. Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. Experience with data analysis tools, preferably Matlab or Python.
Work Environment includes up to 25% travel to test sites, primarily near Reno. The work environment is dynamic and requires adaptability to a rapidly changing setting.
Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fremont, California. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
