Systems Engineer
The Systems Engineer is responsible for working closely with customers and other engineers to build a Systems of Systems (SoS) architecture involving Program of Record (PoR) systems and their corresponding configurations and network topography as well as supporting execution and evaluation of system requirements. They will play a supporting role in achieving the organizations goals by contributing to troubleshooting and anomaly documentation as well as report delivery. This position will directly impact US Navy mission and operational readiness through the test and evaluation of a mission critical software program.
Core Functions / Job Duties
Ability to perform the following, under close supervision:
- Assist in designing, developing, and testing computer systems, including hardware, software, and networking components.
- Assist in integrating multiple systems, hardware, and software components to ensure seamless functionality.
- Participate in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving system issues (bugs), as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software development, test/QA, technical support, technical writing, system architects, configuration management, and all levels of program management.
- Contribute to the documentation of system designs, System Requirement Documentation (SRD), System Requirement Specification (SRS), software user manuals, configurations, requirement traceability matrices, risk assessments, System Engineering Management Plan, Interface control documents, version description documents, fault tree assessments.
- Assist with key activities across all phases of the engineering life-cycle, including requirements analysis, system design and architecture, implementation and integration, testing and verification, documentation, and troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Research systems engineering methodologies, tools, and best practices; stay updated on industry trends.
Skills and Abilities
Foundational knowledge of the following:
- Networking concepts and protocols such as TCP/UDP/ICMP/IGMP
- One or more programming languages
- IEEE standards, systems integration and design principles
- Requirement Management Tools
- Linux and Windows networking
- Hardware and software configuration of routers and switches
- Navy communication systems
Education and Certifications
BS STEM Degree Preferred
CompTIA and/or CISCO Networking Certification preferred

Pay Range
$80,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually, DOE

Security Clearance
Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
