Location: Pasadena, CA (Hybrid/On-site) Employment Type: Full-Time

An innovative aerospace organization is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the design and delivery of a next-generation lunar product. This position involves close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams and direct engagement with customers to define and manage system requirements. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the full product lifecycle—from concept through deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Define, control, and execute systems engineering processes for successful product design.
• Derive and manage system and product requirements from customer specifications.
• Lead requirements definition for spaceflight projects, with a focus on Earth observation, risk management, and hardware/software integration.
• Collaborate across disciplines to ensure cohesive system architecture and design.
• Author technical documentation and manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Systems Engineering experience with spaceflight products.
• Proven expertise in requirements management and systems integration.
• Strong interdisciplinary knowledge across software, hardware, and mechanical systems.
• Experience supporting the design phase of product development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with new product development in the aerospace sector.
• Hands-on involvement in spaceflight missions, particularly lunar or Mars programs.
• Familiarity with tools such as DOORS, Cameo, or similar requirements management platforms.

Work Environment

This role offers the opportunity to design and deliver products that will be deployed in space on accelerated timelines. With a small, agile team and a high volume of active programs, engineers are empowered to work across the full product lifecycle. Projects are highly customized and span a range of missions, including lunar and Mars exploration.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
