As a Sr. Software Engineering Manager of Workload Runtime within the Compute Infrastructure team at LinkedIn, you will play a crucial role in our ongoing efforts to architect our compute infrastructure. You will be responsible for building and evolving next-generation workload runtime that powers LinkedIn at global scale. Your scope will include deep integration across workload orchestration, deployment platform, autoscaling, and reliability engineering. In this role, you will lead a team that designs and implements solutions that enable LinkedIn to scale its compute infrastructure to meet the demands of a rapidly growing user base. You will also need to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Directly contribute to LinkedIn's Workload Runtime strategy within Compute infrastructure.
  • Build and operate a platform that focuses on resource allocation, isolation and security at the host level to ensure reliable and secure execution of workloads.
  • Help up-level and coach a team of talented developers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering/technical management and people management.
  • 4+ years of industry experience in system infrastructure.
  • 2+ years of experience in compute infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
  • 5+ years of experience building large-scale compute infrastructure or other relevant infrastructure.
  • 2+ years of experience managing managers.
  • Experience in leading technical teams and coaching engineers.
  • Demonstrated understanding of operating system fundamentals, container technologies, and systems knowledge.
  • Experience with Kubernetes.

The pay range for this role is $198,000 to $326,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
