What you will be doing: Work corrective actions for discrepancies in a manufacturing environment across multiple portions of the build. Conduct critical reviews of processes to identify gaps and close the process gaps with the intent of reducing variation and discrepancies in the build. Collaborate with quality engineering and production operations to triage repeat failure modes in a production environment. Utilize lean six sigma toolsets to identify root causes and develop corrective action plans. Collaborate with team members to explore out-of-the-box thinking and contribute to product improvement initiatives.

This position is located in Palmdale, CA.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment working cross functionally with other disciplines including quality assurance, production operations, design engineering, industrial engineer, project engineer, manufacturing engineering, and/or process engineering
• Experience supporting air vehicle assembly and part assembly including some combination of the following: composites fabrication, metallics fabrication, structural assembly, systems installation, test operations
• Experience in integrated corrective action, cause map development, RCCA
• Active secret security clearance with an investigation in the last 5 years or enrollment in CE
• Ability to obtain special program access within 3 months of start

Desired Skills:

• STEM degree preferred with 5+ years of experience
• Black belt certification
• PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification
• Experience with audit teams or performing process audits
• Experience facilitation kaizen events and tiger team efforts
• Demonstrated ability to drive issues to closure and develop preventative action plan to limit failures in the future
• Demonstrated understanding of engineering blueprints, model based engineering, process specifications, and manufacturing planning
• Self-starter with ability to operate with limited direction
• Experience working in 3D modelling software (CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks, Nx), Product Lifecycle Manager (PLM) programs (e.g. 3DX, Teamcenter, PDM, etc.), and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) programs (iBASEt, SAP, etc.)

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $81,600 - $143,865. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
