Nokia of America Corporation is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer for multiple positions in Sunnyvale, CA. Design test plans from product requirement documents for the 7x50/IXR router platform. Specify and design test infrastructure using (or enhancing) the existing automation framework to execute the test plans. Work with Tool Command Language and/or Python and C or C++ and Bash programming language. Assist with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, and PIM) used to carry traffic on the internet from layers 2-7 of the OSI model. L2 and L3 Networking layer experience is particularly a must. Working with the operation of software defined and virtualized networks. Review test plans, test procedures and infrastructure with relevant stakeholders for adequacy and completeness/correctness. Analyze results and interact with development engineers, architects/Product Managers and the test community in the resolution/root causing of test failures. Verify the validity of software issues found and addressed by development engineers. Code and script all test cases using the automation environment and have them integrated in the regression infrastructure. Contribute to enhancing the in-house test automation environment. Accountable for the quality and accuracy of own output. Responsible for contribution to teamwork. Carries out tasks/activities according to assignment and set guidelines. Demonstrates initiative and adaptability to changing business environments.
Salary Range: $150,229 - $223,105 per year
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.)
Job Requirements: Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field. Education or experience in: scripting languages: C or C++; TCL, Python, or Bash; routing protocols, including OSPF or BGP used to carry traffic on the internet from layers 2-7 of the OSI model with particular emphasis for L2 and L3 networking layers; routing technologies functionalities; virtualized networks, data networks and computer networking; and operation of software defined and virtualized networks. Telecommuting from a location within commuting distance of Sunnyvale, CA may be permitted up to 40%. Skills may be gained through experience or academic coursework. Qualifying education, coursework, and/or experience may have been gained concurrently.
