The AWS Center for Quantum Computing (CQC) is hiring a Software Development Engineer to develop our data applications and infrastructure with a focus on supporting our fabrication team. You will work closely with other Software Development Engineers, Research Scientists, and a Technical Program Manager.
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations—from foundational services such as Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS's services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you'll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Work directly with scientists and engineers to understand their problems and propose workable solutions. Collect user stories and translate them into UX and software design documents, demonstrating sensible trade-offs between complexity and delivery. Implementation of design proposals in a logical and maintainable manner. Taking ownership over the stability and quality of the software stack by identifying, proposing, and implementing features that will accelerate our realization of quantum computing technologies.
Creating a web application for configuration management of experimental apparatus. Improving user experiences for technicians doing QA on device fabrication products. Developing intuitive user interfaces for fabrication process management tools.
You will be joining the Device Lifecycle software development team within the AWS Center of Quantum Computing. Our team is comprised of software engineers who are building software that enables scaling up quantum computing technologies.
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience. 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience. Experience programming with at least one software programming language. 2+ years of experience with React and TypeScript.
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience. Experience building software using AWS services. Experience working with scientists in a research environment.
