What you’ll do:

• We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Application Engineer to support a high-profile global key account in Datacom & Telecom sector.
• This role requires a strong blend of strategic thinking, technical expertise, customer intimacy, and cross-functional stakeholder management.
• Responsibilities:
• Customer Engagement & Technical Support:
• Function as global technical leader/SME on Thermal Interface Materials (TIM) application and evaluation.
• Serve as the primary technical interface for key global customers in the telecom & datacom industry, providing pre- and post-sales technical support which includes on-site support for technical meetings, audits, demonstrations of new products and future technical strategy discussions.
• Collaborate with OEMs, Tier 1s, and hyperscale customers to understand thermal challenges and recommend optimized solutions.
• Conduct thermal simulations, modeling, and performance validation for customer-specific applications.
• Solution Development:
• Translate customer requirements into technical specifications and customized thermal management solutions. E.g. give input to PD for customer projects, help create project plans, and support the team in achieving project goals within specified timeframes.
• Work closely with AE and PD teams to evaluate and prototype new technologies including thermal interface materials (TIMs), heat sinks, and advanced cooling technologies (e.g., liquid cooling, phase change materials).
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Interface with global teams across engineering, marketing, sales, quality, and manufacturing to ensure strategic and technical alignment and successful product integration.
• Support product launches, including technical training for internal and external stakeholders.
• Testing & Validation:
• Oversee application-specific performance testing and reliability assessments to ensure compliance with customer and industry standards.
• Analyze test data and prepare detailed technical reports and presentations.
• Market Intelligence & Innovation:
• Stay up to date on emerging telecom & datacom hardware trends, standards, and thermal design requirements.
• Provide input to product roadmaps and identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation in thermal management solutions.

What makes you a good fit:

• Education and Experience: PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related technical discipline. 10+ years of relevant professional expertise in electronic assembly materials and processes. Expertise in thermal materials and their applications in Datacom & Telecom market. Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills at all levels of the business. Willingness to travel locally and internationally up to 20%.

The salary for this role is $150,000.00 - $195,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
