Job Summary: Micron is hiring a motivated Engineering Technician to support engineering tasks such as designing, testing, and assembling prototype electric-mechanical systems and specialized test equipment. This role involves working with analog, digital, and logic circuits. You'll support the design of experiments (DOE), validation, and continuous improvement of test equipment—contributing directly to innovation and team success. Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting schematics, diagrams, layouts, and written or verbal instructions to perform testing and troubleshooting functions.
  • Conducting operational tests and fault isolation on systems, equipment, and PCB assemblies.
  • Assisting in identifying and implementing corrective actions, including component-level replacement and soldering.
  • Supporting the design, construction, and validation of test equipment.
  • Applying a variety of manufacturing, test, development, and diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and specialized test apparatus.
  • Apply skills in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Excel) to efficiently complete tasks.
  • Apply advanced analytical techniques and statistical methodologies to assess data anomalies and determine underlying causes.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety standards and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), Control of Hazardous Energy (CoHE), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and safe chemical handling practices.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively document processes and collaborate across teams.
  • Apply working knowledge of assembly procedures and proficiency with testing equipment and tools to support operational efficiency.
  • Maintain a customer-focused approach by ensuring timely and effective responses to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exhibit strong initiative and efficiently manage competing priorities in a high-speed, dynamic work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Electronics or equivalent military experience.
  • 4+ years' experience troubleshooting and failure analysis capabilities.
  • 4+ years of experience in planning, constructing, and refining prototype designs, including conducting testing and verification procedures.
  • 4+ years' experience with practical experience in component-level troubleshooting and repair, with proficiency in advanced soldering techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High level of competency in interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings, and in using electronic diagnostic equipment and standard hand tools.
  • Experience performing routine equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, and basic troubleshooting on engineering lab instruments and test systems.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is: $31.00 - $51.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
