Registered Nurse (RN)

Safety

• Maintains current knowledge of all patient safety standards and National Patient Safety goals and consistently incorporates into nursing practice.
• Able to safely administer medications and blood/blood products using the seven rights of medication and blood administration. Uses two separate hospital approved identifiers to safely identify the patient prior to medication / blood administration.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic work environment at all times and identifies and addresses problems to the appropriate departments.
• Adheres to principles of infection control, including medical and surgical asepsis and isolation techniques. Demonstrates aseptic technique while conducting sterile dressing changes, urinary catheterizations, and other similar duties.
• Receive, interpret and implement physician orders in a safe and timely manner. Uses hospital approved process for telephone and / or verbal orders that include a readback of all orders.

Job Requirements

• Required: High School Graduate Education level necessary to obtain required licensure and certifications 1 year of operating room/ surgical experience. If operational conditions permit, training a candidate without the required experience may be considered., upon hire or High School GED, upon hire and Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire and Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire
• Preferred: Bachelors Other, upon hire Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire

Bakersfield Memorial Hospital includes 385 general acute beds, 48 licensed critical care beds, 13 state-of-the-art surgical suites, and a full-service Emergency Department with an Accredited Chest Pain Center and Nationally Certified Stroke Center. In addition, we offer a beautiful Family Care and Birthing Center, the Lauren Small Children's Center including the area's only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Family Care Center, a Level II NICU, the Sarvanand Heart, and Brain Center with Kern County's first Bi-Plane Interventional Suite, the Center for Wound Care and Hyperbarics, and many more services. Pay Range
