Quality Engineering Intern

Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineering Intern at our Burbank, CA location for the summer of 2026. Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components to the aerospace and defense markets. The Quality Engineering Intern would have the unique experience of interacting directly with senior level quality engineers working directly on problem solving and process improvements. The Quality Engineering Intern will be involved with presenting information, writing reports and process instructions for internal and external customers. In addition, the Quality Engineering Intern will provide support to various functional groups.

Essential functions include:

  • Assist in the preparation of quality assurance sections of proposals
  • Participate in program and design reviews to ensure that product quality objectives are met
  • Assist with analysis of quality requirements in customer requests for proposals
  • Assist with supplier audits and surveys
  • Assist in the training and educating suppliers in quality system requirements, including SPC training and supplier certification training
  • Provide assistance to manufacturing to interpret and clarify quality requirements as necessary
  • Assist in the MRB process to ensure timely dispositions and effective root cause corrective action of problems
  • Ensure that project and/or process control documentation is compliant with requirements and/or contract
  • Assist with failure analysis on returned product as well as internal process failures

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Geometric Tolerancing (GD&T) experience a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively deliver present information, write reports and process instructions, and provide support to various functional groups
  • Eligibility requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US persons will be considered.

Work hours: 40 hour work week.

Salary range: $25.00 to $30.00. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.
