Fleet And Family Readiness Department Position

This position is located at the Business Office of the Fleet and Family Readiness (N9) Department at Naval Air Station Lemoore. The purpose of this position is to prepare and process a variety of purchasing and accounting documents related to all NASL non appropriated fund activities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Processing a variety of accounting and purchasing records
  • Ensuring documents contain accurate and correct information and that the proper cost center and general ledger are used
  • Preparing necessary purchasing documents and reviewing and processing requests for purchases to ensure procedural and regulatory requirements are met
  • Researching catalog, brochures, correspondence, and other appropriate reference material to find potential suppliers/vendors
  • Investigating and resolving discrepancies in delivery, pricing, etc.
  • Maintaining records of purchasing transactions and preparing documentation for superiors
  • Communicating with vendors to discuss item selections, price terms of purchases, delivery, return order authorizations, etc.
  • Functioning as Authorizing Officer (AO) for departmental NAF credit cards
  • Ensuring subordinate card holders follow all regulatory requirements and that all required paperwork and reports related to credit cards are completed correctly and on time
  • Processing daily activity reports (DAR) and coding into SAP accounting system
  • Maintaining BPA call logs as required to ensure accuracy of facility records
  • Maintaining all department procurement record files
  • Assisting with end of the month processes as required
  • Performing tasks such as retail inventory verification; verifying ticket and pre-paid inventory accuracy; ensuring facilities have submitted all end of the month documents
  • Assisting with routine and non-routine internal auditing requirements such as annual fixed asset inventories, monthly resale inventory verifications, and storage facilities audits
  • Requirements include:

    • Associate's degree in business or 3 years of experience in an accounting position
    • Two years of experience with Navy non-appropriated fund activities in an administrative or accounting capacity
    • Knowledge of accounting concepts and procedures to include double entry bookkeeping, accounting transactions, maintaining, balancing and examining accounting records to verify accuracy
    • Knowledge of basic federal procurement principles and practices
    • Ability to maintain various types of records and reports requiring accuracy in selecting, posting and consolidating data
    • Ability to operate a variety of office machines to include a computer
    • Must be proficient in Word and Excel
    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in English
    • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
    • Must have and maintain a current driver's license

    Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. Executive Order 12564 requires a Federal workplace free of illegal drugs.
