Mrb Engineer
A gas turbine company is seeking a hands-on MRB Engineer to join their team. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity and quality of parts across various manufacturing areas. The ideal candidate will be comfortable walking the production floor, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and performing both physical and digital evaluations of non-conforming parts.
Key Responsibilities
Physical Review & Collaboration
- Conduct on-site inspections of parts across multiple manufacturing areas.
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineers and Supplier Technical Engineers to assess non-conformances.
- Lead root cause investigations and recommend disposition actions (use-as-is, rework, repair, or scrap).
Technical Evaluation & Documentation
- Perform anomaly investigations and prepare MRB dispositions.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Document findings and resolutions in accordance with internal MRB protocols.
Systems & Transactions
- Execute transactions in ERP systems related to part status and disposition.
- Maintain accurate records of MRB activities and ensure traceability.
Research & Analysis
- Conduct internal and external research on BOMs, specifications, and engineering drawings.
- Apply GD&T principles and scientific analysis to evaluate hardware discrepancies.
Writing & Communication
- Draft detailed MRB reports, corrective action plans, and technical summaries.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to engineering, quality, and supplier teams.

Skills and requirements:
- Bachelors degree in engineering
- 5+ years of engineering experience
- Experience working with metal components
- Proficient in GD&T
- Ability to interpret CMM, ATOS, and similar inspection reports
- Experience working in Pro-E CREO or similar CAD systems
- Knowledge of machining and NDT inspections
- Familiarity with RCCA, BIQ, COR/CAR processes
- 6Sigma Black Belt and DMAIC training preferred
- Data analytics and digital solution development capabilities
- Acting as first responder to new manufacturing quality issues
- Dispositioning discrepant material (MRB non-conformance RN/RTA)
- Championing BIQ practices, quality alerts (QA), and corrective actions (COR/CAR)
- Reviewing and approving PPAP submissions for dimensional and process integrity
- Driving sustained manufacturing and quality improvements
- Collaborating with internal teams across manufacturing, operations, supply chain, and design engineering
- Participating in cross-functional engineering reviews and initiatives
