Microservices Engineer - Java, Spring / Boot, AWS

Our client, a major Streaming / Entertainment company, is seeking a Java, Spring/Boot focused, Microservices Engineer with experience in AWS and building high traffic / highly complex systems! Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance. Pay: $75 - $80/hr W2

Responsibilities:

  • Build scalable, high-volume services and REST based web services following a microservice architecture.
  • Design, develop and deliver software on progressive and growing platforms, primarily using AWS, Java, and Spring Boot.
  • Develop one-off applications using AWS, Lambda and NodeJS.
  • Develop using databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MySQL).
  • Deploy Java based applications on AWS EKS Clusters.
  • Closely partner with other Software Engineers and Software Quality Engineers and engage in team efforts.
  • Work with architecture and engineering teams to produce high-quality technology solutions.
  • Work in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Experience Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure as well as different AWS services such as Lambda, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, S3, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, API Gateway, and CloudFormation. Experience deploying Java based applications on AWS EKS Clusters.
  • Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases as well as with relational databases.
  • Must be proficient at dealing with support requests and/or troubleshooting.
  • Must have experience working with monitoring tools like Splunk, Datadog.
  • Must have hands-on experience building low latency and high throughput transactional services with continuous integration and automation testing.
  • Must be comfortable multitasking and prioritizing tasks.
  • Great interpersonal and excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience. Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
