Maintenance Engineer

The maintenance engineer will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of production equipment and systems within a herbs and vegetable processing plant. This position requires knowledge of mechanical and electrical industrial equipment and machinery, as well as ammonia/refrigeration systems. Experience in fabrication and welding is also a plus.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain production equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in industrial equipment.
• Service ammonia/refrigeration systems (Has to be in an industrial manufacturing/production environment).
• Perform fabrication and welding tasks as needed.
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices in a food processing environment.

Essential Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Familiarity with maintenance, preventative, mechanical, electrical, welding, RETA, refrigeration, industrial maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting, electrical troubleshooting, pneumatics, hydraulics, plumbing, HVAC, and facilities maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 2-4 years of industrial maintenance experience (mechanical/electrical systems).
• Must be certifiable for forklift operation.
• 1+ years working in a food processing environment.

Work Environment Be prepared to work in varying conditions, from cold environments inside, dropping below 40 degrees in some rooms, to hot environments outside. The position involves working on a graveyard shift, with an initial training period on the day shift. Overtime is required and typically ranges from 7-18% annually. Days and shifts vary, with day shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., swing shifts from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and graveyard shifts from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Days off are scheduled accordingly.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
