Job Description: Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies Warfare Systems partners with the DoD and defense innovation ecosystem to rapidly acquire and field critical and emerging technologies, particularly integrated communications, networking, and Systems-of-Systems (SoS) technologies, to enhance national security and warfighter capabilities. Through a multiagency contracting approach, the Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) initiative focuses on advancing these technologies to achieve multi-domain battlespace integration and resilient command and control. This includes a broad range of services such as systems engineering, cybersecurity, operational integration, and data analytics, all aimed at modernizing communications and ensuring seamless information exchange for the DoD and its allies.

This role is part of a pending contract proposal. We are actively interviewing to identify qualified candidates in anticipation of a successful award.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Supports innovative research and technology development using deep understanding of AI and ML technologies in accordance with relevant DoD policies, DoDI 5000.88, and DoD AI Ethical Principles.
• Provides strategic assessments of new and current technologies to support senior decision-makers while conducting background research in evaluating the feasibility and the defense applications of new technological concepts.
• Creates data mining architectures/models/protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large data sets.
• Researches, designs, and develops advanced AI; develops advanced solutions at the intersection of AI and data science.
• Collaborates across multi-functional teams to identify opportunities for improving the IT services enterprise.
• Exercises a strong knowledge of software systems, AI, Deep Learning, design methods, and system-of-systems architectures.
• Understands supporting technologies, including cloud computing, containerization (for deployment), parallelization (for training), databases (for training data), and Git (for code management).
• Integrates AI engine/techniques with Modeling and Simulation applications.
• Ability to self-manage and pace responsibilities to ensure completion of activities in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications

• 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
• Must possess an active Top Secret clearance.
• Ability to analyze system requirements and develop engineering specifications.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across engineering lifecycle phases.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in technical documentation.

Preferred Requirements

• Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools like MagicDraw or Cameo.
• Prior experience working with military or aerospace platforms.
• Master's degree in a technical discipline is a plus.

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
