Great opportunity to join our Food Service Team at our Scripps Memorial La Jolla Campus. Our team is dedicated to serving the community with the highest quality of patient care experience. Scripps Memorial La Jolla has been one of Southern California's premier medical centers for more than 90 years. As the Lead for Food and Nutrition Services, your main duties will include oversight of staff to ensure tasks are completed appropriately. You will also be the person in charge on weekends and when the supervisor is unavailable. You will provide leadership and coordination in the following Food Service operational systems: safe food handling, volume food production, menu development and modification, meal assembly and portion control, inventory management, food service equipment operations, customer service, human resources management, financial performance, infection control/sanitation and overall department function. Participates in the planning, coordination, preparation and volume production of meals for patients, cafeteria, and catering/special events. Complies with JCAHO, Title XXII and other regulations.
Required Qualifications: One year experience in food and nutrition services Must be able to speak, read, and write English ServSafe Manager Food Protection Certification Preferred Qualifications: One year of leadership experience in food service industry Experience in healthcare food operations including diet office functions Experience in kitchen sanitation operations Associate Degree in related field or Certified Dietary Manager
