Human Resources Manager

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to oversee and enhance key HR functions for a local government organization in the South Bay. This position requires a strategic, detail-oriented individual who can manage employee relations, administer benefits, and ensure smooth onboarding processes. This is a short-term contract role that offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR policies to ensure compliance with regulations and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage employee relations by addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and fostering a positive workplace environment.
  • Oversee benefits administration, ensuring employees have access to accurate information and support.
  • Streamline onboarding processes to create a seamless experience for new hires.
  • Maintain and optimize HRIS systems to ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting.
  • Provide guidance to leadership on HR-related matters, including workforce planning and performance management.
  • Conduct regular audits of HR practices to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with departments to address staffing needs and support organizational initiatives.
  • Ensure employees are informed about HR policies, benefits, and programs.
  • Monitor industry trends and recommend updates to HR strategies accordingly.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources management or related roles.
  • Strong expertise in employee relations, including conflict resolution and workplace mediation.
  • Proficiency in HR administration, including policy development and compliance.
  • Solid understanding of benefits functions and related processes.
  • Experience working with HRIS systems for data management and reporting.
  • Proven ability to manage onboarding programs effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with employees at all levels.
  • Knowledge of local government operations is a plus.
