Maintenance Division Manager

The Maintenance Division is currently seeking a qualified person to manage all activities related to facilities maintenance to include paint, carpentry, sign/art, landscape, pest control, life support, dive operations, and water quality. Key duties and responsibilities include overseeing and coordinating with the Maintenance Director the broad array of facility-related maintenance including fiberglass, plumbing, carpentry, painting, masonry, A/C shop, facilities electrical, and wooden coaster structures, as well as being involved in new ride installations. The role also involves overseeing and coordinating with the Maintenance Director the overall safe and efficient operation of the Life Support department. Additionally, the position requires serving as a member of the Animal Welfare Committee to review research requests and review park compliance with legislation. The individual will also serve as Chairman of the Dive Control Board, working with the DSO to ensure safe dive operations. Interface with regulatory agencies and accrediting organizations to maintain all standards accordingly. The Maintenance Division Manager is responsible for all asset maintenance, repair and maintenance budget, estimates, tracking, and timely execution with cost reduction in mind. Ensuring all projects are completed in a safe and timely manner to not affect the Guest Experience or Team Member experience is also crucial. The role involves overseeing the work order process, prioritizing work order requests, distributing to appropriate Team Members, scheduling work orders, placing vendor bids for materials, selecting vendors, preparing requisitions, and estimating job costs for input into the budget database. Performing daily site inspections of ongoing work and review of upcoming work, checking theme park areas frequently for any needed repairs and maintenance is also part of the responsibilities. Providing a work environment that demonstrates leadership, cooperation, policy enforcement, safety, communication, and motivation is essential. Maintaining regular dialog with the Director of Maintenance and Rides Maintenance Manager, maintaining CAL OSHA Safety Standards and other policies and procedures of the Park and Company, and reviewing all proposed capital and asset maintenance list items to ensure all local, state, and federal building code requirements are factored into the final cost of each project are also key duties. All other duties as requested or assigned.

Skills and qualifications include having at least five years of facility maintenance or related experience, at least five years of supervisory or project management experience, a working knowledge of CAL OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies rules and regulations, good organization skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, excellent written and oral communication, math, and interpersonal skills, strong leadership and motivational skills, the ability to access all areas of the park, the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, the ability to bend, squat, and kneel, a thorough working knowledge of the operation of hand and power tools, art equipment, paint sprayers, lawn and garden equipment, heavy equipment, etc, experience with Microsoft Office software, Mobaro, and/or Maximo maintenance management system preferred, a high school diploma or its equivalent, and a valid driver's license with a clear driving record. Flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays is required.
