You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, coordinate project activities, and contribute to permitting and invoicing processes. This position is ideal for someone with a blend of technical aptitude and strong communication skills, who is eager to grow within a structured training environment and take ownership of complex utility projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and construction plans for electric system additions or improvements.
  • Create field sketches and material layouts aligned with utility standards and customer specifications.
  • Obtain joint-pole agreements and initiate procedures for rights-of-way, permits, licenses, and environmental documentation.

  • Upon completion of training, utilize technical platforms such as SAP DMS, OCalc, GIS, WebViewer, EES, and AutoCAD.
  • Apply knowledge of utility standards to evaluate constructability, materials, permitting needs, and project mapping.
  • Deliver accurate and complete estimate packages for single and multi-location projects.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with or exposure to electrical utility estimating, design, or construction is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients, teams, and permitting agencies.
  • Ability to learn and apply technical tools such as GIS, AutoCAD, SAP, and enterprise estimating software.
  • General understanding of utility standards and infrastructure systems is a plus.
  • Willingness to complete structured training and adapt to evolving project demands and tools.
