Engineering Manager, Search Experience

DoorDash is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Search Experience engineering team. This team is responsible for building the end-to-end consumer Search experience, including Search result surfaces, interaction patterns, and Search-driven product innovations. The Search Experience team is part of DoorDash's Core Consumer/Search organization, which owns the very top of the consumer funnel from the initial landing page through checkout across iOS, Android, and Web.

About the Role

You will lead a team of product-focused full stack engineers building the systems and experiences that define how consumers discover, explore, and interact with Search on DoorDash. This role partners closely with Product, Design, Data Science, and Search Quality/Platform teams to translate Search relevance and intelligence into polished, high-impact consumer experiences.

  • Lead and grow a team of full stack engineers delivering high-quality, end-to-end Search experiences used by millions of consumers
  • Own backend systems and APIs that power Search experiences across mobile and web platforms
  • Partner closely with Product and Design to define the vision, roadmap, and execution for Search experiences
  • Drive product velocity while maintaining high standards for reliability, performance, and user experience
  • Influence how Search intelligence and ML capabilities are surfaced through intuitive, consumer-first experiences
  • Build an inclusive, high-performing team by coaching engineers, supporting career growth, and scaling the team as impact grows

We're excited about you because…

  • You have a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent
  • You have 7+ years of industry experience, including minimum of 2 years of management experience
  • You have experience managing engineering disciplines across BE, Android, iOS, and Web
  • You bring in strong product sense and can be a thought partner with cross-functional peers
  • You have hands-on experience working with non-technical stakeholders, cross-team collaboration, and building scalable products in a fast-paced environment
  • You have the ability to handle ambiguity and work with product and business partners to collect non-technical requirements to design and build scalable experience solutions
  • You have the ability to guide and grow an excellent engineering team in a rapidly changing business environment

Compensation

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee's work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future. In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.
