Embedded Software Engineer

Join our team as an Embedded Systems Engineer and contribute to the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge embedded software solutions for the space industry. This role primarily involves programming in C/C++ on a digital video controller system supporting space flight avionics. You will work on tasks such as ingesting video, file system recording/playback, and managing multiple interfaces with strict timing requirements. Based on your strengths, you may also work on Embedded Linux systems or contribute to real-time operating system (RTOS) development for mission-critical applications.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop embedded software solutions for space industry applications.
• Program in C/C++ on digital video controller systems.
• Ingest video and manage file system recording/playback.
• Handle multiple interfaces, including Ethernet, 1553, and 422 serial, with strict timing requirements.
• Work on Embedded Linux systems, ranging from low-level drivers to middleware and application layers.
• Contribute to RTOS development for mission-critical applications.

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in C programming.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded applications development.
• Experience with embedded C, firmware, and RTOS.
• Experience in regulated industries such as Aerospace, Defense, Space, Medical Devices, or Automotive.
• Ability to use Logic Analyzer and Oscilloscope.
• Experience with Embedded Linux development.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar field.
• Working knowledge of Python is preferred.
• Familiarity with shell scripting, kernel, and microprocessor programming.
• Ability to contribute to middleware and application development.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, CA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
