Cloud Ops Studio Engineer

Work within the Cloud Ops Studio responsible for deploying product updates for a major client, identifying production issues and implementing integrations that meet customers' needs. Responsible for the software development lifecycle of projects utilizing various automation tools for developing digital pipelines. Work with developers and other IT staff to oversee the code releases by combining an understanding of both engineering and coding. Create and implement systems software and analyze data to improve existing ones. Work with client and its team to ensure a stable and repeatable solution across the organization. Participate in the creation of the framework for future deployments of products of the Disney organization. Utilize technologies such as Jira and Confluence to keep track of the solutions given to the client, and make sure that they are aligned with the expectations. Evaluate the latest technologies to use within a project, account or with the company. Develop software/scripts for CI/CD integrations. Implement open source/closed technologies and tools such as OSes, DBs, App Servers, Monitoring Systems and APMs. Perform systems administration automation, IT provisioning (hardware, VM, shared hosting and cloud) and lifecycle management of these by using existing tools and/or developing new ones. Automate code/software deployment. Responsible for database lifecycle management automation (backup, restore, ETL processing and reporting). Implement IT best practices such as industry standards like PCI DSS or ITIL. Define standardized processes. Responsible for metrics collection, analysis and utilization for the company to improve efficiency and quality. Oversee dependencies, risks and critical paths of studio or technology area. Ensure staff balancing within the studio or technology area. Recommend training strategies and participate in workforce planning for the company's long-term strategy and plan. Note: Working remotely for various unanticipated locations, reporting to COS Head Office in San Francisco, CA.

Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Systems Engineering, IT or U.S. equivalency and one (1) year of experience in the job or as a Sr. DevOps Engineer or closely related occupation within the IT/software development industry, responsible for creating, building and deploying pipelines for infrastructure and application developments, as well as defining infrastructure as code in Terraform and CloudFormation templates. Experience must include deploying, monitoring and supporting the Cloud components for customer applications, working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab CI and Concourse. Must have experience utilizing the following technologies/tools: Jira, Confluence, Open source/closed technologies and tools (OSes, DBs, App Servers, Monitoring Systems, APMs), IT provisioning (hardware, VM, shared hosting, cloud), ETL processing and reporting; and applying IT best practices and industry standards like PCI DSS or ITIL.
