Coordinator Ambulatory Access

Schedule: Day Shift

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Coordinator Ambulatory Access plays a key role in supporting patient access and clinic efficiency across ambulatory care settings. This individual ensures patients are registered accurately and in a timely manner while also supporting daily capacity coordination to optimize provider schedules and minimize delays. This position works closely with clinic teams, referral staff, and scheduling coordinators to confirm registration readiness, review appointment utilization, and escalate capacity-related issues. A strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential for success in this role.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:

Required:

  • 1+ years experience in customer service, preferably in a medical front office setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and telephone manners.
  • Must be highly flexible, adaptable, enthusiastic, have a proactive approach, work efficiently and effectively under pressure in a team environment.
  • Must be comfortable with computers and medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of major insurance plans and types of coverage provided, including government health programs.

Preferred:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • 3+ year experience in medical front office setting.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

Required: High school diploma or GED required.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree

Hours may vary depending on assignments.

Pay Scale Information $43,680.00-$65,062.00 CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
