Marine Corps Community Services Job Opportunity

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team. MCCS is a comprehensive program that enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. Responsibilities include providing advanced product knowledge, educated recommendations, and a Dress Blue Experience to all customers throughout their Marine Corps Exchange shopping experience. You will be responsible for meeting personal and department sales goals, coaching sales associates on product knowledge areas, and remaining committed to learning about the brands and products sold within the store. You will also educate customers on product questions and provide suggestions when needed, relay customer comments and concerns to the Sales Manager, and identify opportunities to produce add-on sales through suggestive and consultative selling.

You will work with the Sales Manager to achieve daily and weekly sales goals, assist in the planning and execution of corporate sales programs, promotions, and events, and build and nurture loyal MCX customers. You will also encourage and empower all team members to identify opportunities to resolve customer problems and concerns before they happen, communicate any outstanding problem resolution issues with the Experience Manager, and understand and articulate all MCX value stories, programs, and promotions.

You will recognize the core values and mission of the Marine Corps Exchange, identify and reduce all risks of loss and/or theft, actively engage in organizational training opportunities, and provide world-class customer service with an emphasis on courtesy. You will deliver a Dress Blue Experience to all customers throughout the store, proactively engage all customers in conversation, address customers by rank when appropriate, offer assistance and suggestive selling advice as the customer progresses throughout their shopping experience, and understand and operate within all service policies.

You will follow up with customers to ensure their problems were resolved, take action to solve problems quickly, and adhere to safety regulations and standards. You will promptly report any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. You will adhere to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment, and may handle customer special orders and merchandise requests, food handling safety training, handling and certification, training and handling of Western Union and other customer services offered, and light custodial duties, light lifting of merchandise, stocking, setting planograms, price changes, inventory counts and corrections.

The incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 20lbs independently and objects over 20lbs with assistance.

Minimum qualifications include at least one year of experience working in customer sales, demonstrated knowledge of selling techniques, ability to train operating standards and procedures for sales, signing, merchandising, and store brand, ability to work in a high-performance atmosphere with commitment to service and sales goals, and attention to detail. Education and replenishment and merchandise management knowledge are preferred.
