We're looking for an engineer with a strong backend focus to join our HashiCorp Vault Ecosystem team. In this role, you will work on the Vault plugin ecosystem (auth, secret, database), designing, prototyping, and implementing features and tools while ensuring stability and usability.
* Collaborate closely with Product Design and Product Management partners, as well as engineers on your team and others * Act as a subject matter expert on quality development with an emphasis on Golang development * Participate in cross-team working groups as you develop your knowledge as a domain expert * Empathize with the people who use our products, serving as their voice when influencing priorities and technical decisions * Enable your teammates through technical contributions, code reviews and pair programming * Work with internal and external stakeholders to determine and prioritize new features and enhancements critical to the success of HashiCorp customers and employees * Support reliable production environments, including participating in an on-call rotation
* More than 3 years of experience as a backend engineer. * You have expert-level proficiency in Go, with a proven track record of developing complex, production-grade applications. * You have experience working with Linux (including troubleshooting and bash scripting), cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), relational/NoSQL databases. * You have a solid understanding of CI/CD and automation principles (GitHub Actions, etc.). * You enjoy working collaboratively with a distributed team and you have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document technical designs. * You value feedback, and seeking ways to learn and grow as an engineer.
* You have experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (preferably Terraform). * You have experience working with HashiCorp products (Terraform, Packer, Waypoint, Nomad, Vault, Boundary, Consul).
