The position serves as an Advanced Medical Support Assistant at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, Health Administration Service. The Advanced Medical Support Assistant is responsible for a range of clerical and administrative duties that demonstrate the advanced level of the MSA. The primary purpose of the position is to provide administrative and team support in a wide variety of basic administrative functions within a Patient Aligned Care Team, Specialty Clinic, or Call Center.
Responsibilities include:
The Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) must interpret and implement regulations accurately to reflect current operating procedures. Provides the customer with consistent information according to established policies and procedures. Handles conflict and problems in dealing with the customer constructively and appropriately. Consistently communicates and treats customers (patients, visitors, volunteers, and all medical center staff) in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner.
