Maintenance Engineer
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the efficient operation, safety, and functionality of all building systems and equipment. This role performs timely repairs and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime, maximize equipment longevity, and ensure a comfortable environment for guests and staff. The Engineer is knowledgeable in the operation, repair, and installation of water heaters, pumps, plumbing, electrical systems, and other mechanical components, adhering to all local, state, and NEC standards.
How You Will Create the Extraordinary
- Perform necessary repairs to maintain smooth property operations.
- Respond promptly and effectively to all guest complaints to prevent inconvenience or discomfort.
- Develop thorough knowledge of operating, maintaining, and repairing water heaters, pumps, plumbing, and related systems.
- Complete repairs, maintenance, and part replacements according to the preventative maintenance schedule.
- Accurately record all maintenance activities and equipment data.
- Continuously evaluate preventative maintenance plans to maximize equipment longevity, minimize downtime, and ensure efficient operation per manufacturer recommendations.
- Maintain familiarity with all applicable local, state, and NEC codes and standards.
- Install new equipment and systems as directed.
- Perform weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual preventative maintenance tasks.
- Train less-experienced personnel in electrical equipment and building systems.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in proper working condition.
- Adhere strictly to all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Complete all additional tasks assigned by the Facilities Manager or authorized supervisors.
- Build positive working relationships with internal guests through clear communication and timely job completion.
- Maintain minimal absenteeism and tardiness.
- Communicate and coordinate with outside contractors and vendors as required.
- Prepare Bills of Materials and ensure all necessary parts, tools, and equipment are ready before beginning tasks.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of standard operating procedures and organizational policies.
- Exhibit leadership qualities and willingness to take on leadership roles when needed.
- Show initiative in solving problems while seeking supervisory guidance when appropriate.
- Make sound decisions that support the best interests of the organization and its guests.
- Perform work with an understanding of the organization's mission and the Engineering department's critical role.
- Demonstrate a positive team-oriented work ethic.
- Complete all work accurately, efficiently, and on time.
