Interface Engineer

An Interface Engineer in airport projects is responsible for managing and coordinating the technical and functional interfaces between multiple stakeholders, systems, and contractors to ensure seamless integration and delivery of complex airport infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Interface coordination: Identify, define, and manage interfaces between civil, structural, MEP, IT, BHS, PBB, ELV, and other airport systems.
  • Design integration: Ensure alignment and compatibility between multi-disciplinary designs and packages (airside/landside, terminal, support facilities).
  • Stakeholder engagement: Act as the point of contact between consultants, contractors, airport authorities, and third-party vendors for interface-related matters.
  • Documentation & tracking: Develop and maintain interface registers, matrices, and action plans; track interface issues and drive resolution.
  • Construction support: Coordinate site works to resolve clashes and ensure systems are integrated as per design during execution.
  • Compliance & safety: Ensure all interfaces meet regulatory and operational standards (ICAO, IATA, local aviation codes).

Requirements include:

  • Experience working on major airport infrastructure projects (terminals, runways, MEP systems, special airport systems).
  • Familiarity with airport-specific systems like BHS, PBB, SCADA, ELV, HVAC, FIDS, and security systems.
  • Skilled in using interface management tools and platforms (e.g., BIM 360, Primavera, Aconex).
