A well-established commercial services company is seeking a Director of Service Operations to lead and manage all aspects of its independent service division. This department operates with its own P&L and is run separately from the construction side of the business, requiring a leader who can bring focus, structure, and proactive management. This is a high-visibility role reporting directly to the Owner, with the Director of Sales and the Service Manager reporting to you. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of operational leadership, financial accountability, and building high-performing teams. Industry experience in commercial HVAC is strongly preferred but not required for the right leader.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily service operations, ensuring adherence to company standards and exceptional customer satisfaction.
• Lead and develop the service team, including Service Supervisors and Service Sales staff, fostering a culture of accountability and performance.
• Manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and financial decisions to meet corporate profitability goals.
• Implement strategic plans to drive operational efficiency and growth.
• Establish processes, guidelines, and proactive planning to reduce last-minute operational challenges.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
• Recruit, train, and mentor team members to build a cohesive, high-performing department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
• 3–5 years of senior operational management experience; commercial HVAC background strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in P&L management, budgeting, and strategic planning.
• Proven ability to build efficient processes and streamline operations.
• Calm, steady leadership style with the ability to handle high-pressure situations.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• History of good tenure in previous roles is a must.
