We are seeking an experienced Consultant Anaesthetist to provide medical input to our pre-assessment service from 0800-1800, Monday to Friday. In the relatively unlikely event that an emergency theatre case should arise during these hours, the post holder will also be expected to provide anaesthetic cover, before handing over to, or taking handover from, the on-call anaesthetist who is on duty for emergencies from 1800-0800.
The post holder will conduct a morning clinic from 0800-1300 to assess high risk pre-operative patients and request any necessary investigations.
From 1300 -1800, the post holder will be responsible for collating and acting on abnormal test results, contacting patients and making clinical referrals, where specialty input is required.
