Rework Support - Manufacturing Warehouse

The Rework Support will primarily be responsible for the rework process of damaged products, that includes but is not limited to removing, restacking, wrapping and printing labels for damaged products. The Rework Support must ensure quality standards are met before the product is shipped to customers. The Rework Support will also assist with inventory activities such as cycle counts, inventory adjustments, and recycling activities.

Essential functions include:

  • Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position. Position is required to work all hours necessary to ensure operations function is fulfilled, including nights, weekends, holidays.
  • Operate sit-down forklift ensuring the safe and efficient movement of products.
  • Must perform pre-trip inspection on all power equipment used through InfoLink system.
  • Follow all the driving rules and always be aware of the surroundings.
  • Report any equipment malfunction and accident/incident to a member of the management team.
  • Must be familiar with warehouse and production areas to ensure best time management in completing his/her assigned duties.
  • Identify non-conforming packaging. Ensure each pallet of product has the correct number of cases, wrap, labels, etc.
  • Minimize waste by performing rework activities on defective products according to established procedures and guidelines in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Adjust inventory in the Warehouse Management System utilizing electronic devices (tablets and RF Scanners) to process inventory adjustments.
  • Bail the cardboard and plastic waste using compactors.
  • Ensure that reworked products meet quality standards and specifications before they are returned to backstock locations or shipped to customers.
  • Communicate effectively with Warehouse Supervisor and other team members to resolve any rework issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of equipment and work area. Work area must be swept and clean of all trash, pallet pieces, and debris. Trash must be dumped. In the case of any product spill, mop as needed to keep the floors clean and dry.
  • Collect and move damages to the designated recycling areas.
  • Participate in recycling activities as needed.
  • Identify needs and assist other areas when appropriate.
  • Use proper lifting techniques to avoid injuries and follow the BRC safety practices.
  • Make sound decisions and multitask simultaneously without constant supervision.
  • Adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Required to follow the Good Manufacturing Program GMPs as listed in Code of Federal Regulations CFR 21 section 110. Requires participation in various Food Safety related training that Buffalo Rock utilizes. Required to report potential issues related to Food Safety.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.

    • Ability to work in a fast paced and warm environment, especially during summer months.
    • Sense of Sound - Hearing is required for the total workday.
    • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – high visibility shirt or safety vest, slip resistant shoes and safety glasses.

    Required education and experience:

    • Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred
    • Experience: 6+ months previous in warehouse environment: Preferred
    • 6+ months experience as a forklift operator: Preferred
    • Experience utilizing RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems: Preferred
    • Skills: Must be able to read product packaging and communicate in English. Must be able to pass forklift certification. Ability to perform basic math and use Warehouse Management Systems. Must be able to successfully operate Tenant Scrubber.
