Technical Sales Representative

A Technical Sales Representative position has become available in the WT Division within the Middle Market industry, based in the Western Cape (Cape Town and surroundings). Qualification: Degree or Higher National Diploma or equivalent in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Microbiology/Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering. Experience: Minimum of five years relevant technical sales experience with relevant tertiary chemical qualification, or ten years relevant experience. Two years' experience in a sales & service environment related to the general water treatment industry. Experience in polymer application to solid/liquid separation will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities include but not limited to: Account Management, Sales development into target market, Technical Services, Marketing support, SHERQ Management, Continuous Improvement and Project Management Support. Basic daily duties will include (but will not be limited to): Accurate chemical application to cooling water systems, liquid solid separation, boiler water systems and other chemical application as required; Laboratory and on site chemical evaluation related to chemical performance in water systems and liquid solid separation; Accurate interpretation of water chemistry related to chemical application; 100% continuity of chemical supply, inclusive of deliveries and housekeeping; Strict adherence/compliance with customer standards/required results, chemical and plant related; Accurate budget and general administration.

The successful candidate must be prepared to travel extensively, must be physically fit and able to work alone at physically challenging plants on surface. They will be a people-person, practically orientated, able to handle pressure, a problem solver and a team member who is self-motivated. They must be able to communicate at all levels, be organized and self-disciplined. A driver's license, computer literacy, basic proficiency in Microsoft packages and understanding of business systems is a necessity. The successful candidate will be expected to reside or relocate to the Western Cape (Cape Town and surroundings) area to take up the position.
