Mercury Marine is seeking an intern to take part in the design and development of software to interact with engine hardware. This is an engineering position that will involve working on Mercury's G3 Computer Diagnostic System tool, a desktop application designed to run on Windows PCs. You will be part of a high-performance team that values collaboration, quality, and getting the job done. As a G3 CDS Tool Software Engineer Intern you may have the opportunity to:

  • Architect, design, develop and implement diagnostic applications using C# on .NET 8.
  • Design and develop robust, scalable, high performing production applications for users across the globe.
  • Leverage your existing skills while learning and implementing new technologies.
  • Work shoulder to shoulder with experienced engineers in the field of marine technology.
  • Work in and around watercraft.

In addition to a great hands-on learning experience, you will also acquire the skills needed to:

  • Select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, criteria, and judgment in a real-world, hands-on, cross-functional environment.
  • Become experienced in developing functional requirements and user stories, data analysis, documenting and authenticating testing results, and technical report writing.

Qualifications of a successful candidate:

  • Current enrollment in a BS program with a major in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum second semester sophomore status with 48 completed credits.
  • Availability to work full-time (40 or more hours per week) onsite in Oshkosh, WI during the summer of 2026.
  • Creative ability with strong software aptitude.
  • Experience with cross-platform development, cloud technologies, web applications and services, and embedded firmware build using C# on .NET 8.
  • CAN, Bluetooth, Ethernet, and networking experience a plus.
  • Apigee, JSON, and XML experience a plus.
  • US Work Authorization Required

  • Project Work: The work environment is supportive, collaborative, and conducive to learning. Student co-ops or interns typically work on specific projects or tasks that contribute to the organization's goals. This may range from supporting larger projects to handling smaller, individual assignments.
  • Hours: Co-ops and Interns are expected to work a full 40-hour work week
  • Feedback and Performance Reviews: As a co-op or intern, you will receive feedback and performance reviews throughout your assignment. We value the importance for interns to understand their progress and areas for improvement.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate offered will vary depending on multiple factors including year in school/credits earned, degree, job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.

At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate's qualifications and the business context.
