Data Engineer

We are looking for a Data Engineer (m/w/d) for our location in Hanau, starting immediately, in a permanent full-time position (40 hours per week).

The Bruker EAS GmbH is the world's leading manufacturer of superconductors. Our materials are used in superconducting magnets for a variety of applications in medical technology, analytics, fusion research, or high-energy physics. The main application area of our products in the industrial sector is in the coil system of magnetic resonance tomographs (MRT). Responsibilities

  • Development, maintenance, and automation of ETL/ELT pipelines with Apache Airflow
  • Automation and orchestration of data processes
  • Development of interfaces to various systems (SharePoint, PostgreSQL), especially with Python
  • Conception, maintenance, and optimization of relational databases with PostgreSQL
  • Use of Docker for containerization of data processes and applications (prospectively transition to Kubernetes)
  • Database administration (e.g., backups, index maintenance, monitoring)
  • Development of stored procedures and ad-hoc queries with PL/pgSQL
  • Ensuring data quality and data consistency
  • Monitoring, documentation, and error handling of data pipelines
  • Support in the creation of dashboards and reports in Qlik Sense and in future in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Qualifications

  • Completed studies in computer science or a related field
  • Proven experience with SQL (preferably PostgreSQL including PL/pgSQL for complex database logic) as well as database administration
  • Very good knowledge of orchestration and ETL tools like Apache Airflow
  • Very good knowledge of Python (SQLAlchemy and Django are an advantage)
  • Secure handling of Docker
  • Proven experience with ETL/ELT concepts and data modeling
  • Experience with PowerShell
  • Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD processes is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of Linux
  • Basic knowledge of Kubernetes is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of BI tools like Qlik Sense, SAC, or similar programs
  • Basic knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana)
  • Analytical thinking, structured working style, and team spirit
