Data Engineer

We are looking for a Data Engineer (m/w/d) for our location in Hanau, starting immediately, in an indefinite full-time position (40 hours per week).

The Bruker EAS GmbH is the world's leading manufacturer of superconductors. Responsibilities

  • Development, maintenance and automation of ETL/ELT pipelines with Apache Airflow
  • Automation and orchestration of data processes
  • Development of interfaces to various systems (SharePoint, PostgreSQL), especially with Python
  • Conception, maintenance and optimization of relational databases with PostgreSQL
  • Use of Docker for containerization of data processes and applications (perspectively transition to Kubernetes)
  • Database administration (e.g. backups, index maintenance, monitoring)
  • Development of stored procedures and ad hoc queries with PL/pgSQL
  • Ensuring data quality and data consistency
  • Monitoring, documentation and error handling of data pipelines
  • Support in the creation of dashboards and reports in Qlik Sense and in the future in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Qualifications

  • Completed studies in computer science, information technology or similar
  • Proven experience with SQL (preferably PostgreSQL including PL/pgSQL for complex database logic) and database administration
  • Very good knowledge of orchestration and ETL tools such as Apache Airflow
  • Very good knowledge of Python (SQLAlchemy and Django are an advantage)
  • Secure handling of Docker
  • Proven experience with ETL/ELT concepts and data modeling
  • Experience with PowerShell
  • Experience with version control (e.g. Git) and CI/CD processes is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of Linux
  • Basic knowledge of Kubernetes is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of BI tools such as Qlik Sense, SAC or similar programs
  • Basic knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g. Grafana)
  • Analytical thinking, structured working method and team spirit
