PUMP SERVICER APPRENTICE

Location: OAKLAND PARK, FL 33309

Position Goal:

To perform in a responsible and accurate manner semiskilled work under the supervision of a skilled journey trades employee and all tasks geared to improving the skill and proficiency of the apprentice with the ultimate promotion to a journey trades classification.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program.
• Certificate of Competency Requirements - Prior to being reclassified from Apprentice to Craftsman, effective July 1, 1993, all apprentice graduates from the Broward County School Board and/or other similar curriculum must comply with the State of Florida respective craft certificate of competency. Apprentice graduates from other than the State of Florida programs shall be required to obtain a certificate of competency prior to employment or within the six-month grace period for their respective craft.
• Must pass aptitude test administered by the Florida State Employment Service, (Job Service of Florida) prior to interview.
• Must have a desire to learn the trade and possess the ambition to advance to a journey status after proper training, outside schooling and diligent application on the job. 2 Apprentice – All Trades (cont.) SBBC: NN-002
• Must provide own hand tools.
• Must have a proper Florida commercial driver's license with endorsements compatible with the assigned duties of The School Board
• of Broward County, Florida.
• This position will include pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
• Computer skills as required for the position.

Compensation: Hourly Rate - $22.30 - $25.27 per hour

New hires will be hired at the minimum of the assigned salary range
