Senior Director, Business Operations

At Brooklinen, we believe operational clarity unlocks creativity, speed, and sustainable growth. We're looking for a strategic operator to lead the development and execution of our cross-functional business rhythm—bringing structure and focus to how work flows across our DTC, retail, and wholesale channels.

You'll own our company-wide operating calendar and define the end-to-end processes that align teams, drive execution, and ensure shared milestones are met—from planning through delivery and retrospective. Sitting at the center of the organization, this role is foundational to how we plan, prioritize, and deliver our most important initiatives.

You'll be the connective tissue across teams—ensuring product, marketing, supply chain, retail, and digital stay aligned and move in sync. You'll bring clarity to complex workflows, elevate executional discipline, and reduce friction at every turn.

This isn't about transformation theater or decks collecting dust. It's about helping a fast-growing, high-performing team operate even better—through tighter coordination, smarter tooling, and a shared understanding of what's getting done, when, and by whom.

You'll partner directly with our executive leadership team and department heads to make sure priorities are clear, timelines are grounded, and blockers get resolved quickly. This is a highly visible leadership role with real influence on how we operate and scale.

What You'll Own

Cross-Functional Process Ownership (40%)

  • Own and evolve our master operating calendar, ensuring teams have a shared, reliable view of what's happening when
  • Define and refine key cross-functional processes (e.g., go-to-market, launch planning, quarterly roadmap alignment)
  • Serve as the central orchestrator of cross-functional collaboration—ensuring the right stakeholders are involved at the right time

Program & Initiative Management (30%)

  • Drive end-to-end execution of high-impact, cross-functional initiatives—ensuring clarity from kickoff to post-launch
  • Develop project plans, governance cadences, and communication workflows that promote momentum and accountability
  • Act as a steady hand through ambiguity—clearing roadblocks and driving alignment as priorities evolve

Operational Excellence & Enablement (20%)

  • Identify gaps and inefficiencies across how work gets done—and introduce practical, scalable solutions
  • Roll out tools, templates, and rituals that improve decision-making, speed, and consistency
  • Own and evolve core SOPs and playbooks to help teams execute more effectively

Post-Mortems & Continuous Improvement (10%)

  • Lead monthly retrospectives to embed learnings into future planning cycles
  • Monitor initiative health through operational metrics and analytics—surfacing what's on track, what's at risk, and what needs attention
  • Build a culture of operational rigor without bureaucracy

What Success Looks Like

  • Teams operate against a clear, dependable calendar—knowing what's coming, who's involved, and how to prepare
  • Initiatives launch smoothly, with fewer surprises and tighter execution
  • Cross-functional collaboration feels seamless, not strained
  • The ELT has real-time visibility into priorities, progress, and pressure points
  • Teams use repeatable, trusted tools to plan and scale work without reinventing the wheel

We're Looking For Someone Who Brings

  • 12–15+ years of experience in business operations, strategic execution, or program management—preferably in a high-growth, consumer-facing environment
  • A track record of building and scaling operating rhythms, cross-functional processes, and initiative delivery frameworks
  • Strong executive presence, with the ability to influence across levels and functions
  • Excellent organizational skills and a calm, clear approach to ambiguity and change
  • A builder's mindset—excited to introduce just enough structure to unlock clarity and speed
  • Systems thinking, with a sharp eye for detail and a bias toward action

Compensation & Benefits

At Brooklinen, we're committed to providing a competitive total compensation package—grounded in market data that reflects our size, stage, industry, and location. For this role, the base salary range is $190,000–$210,000 with a 15% target bonus.

We also offer a comprehensive set of benefits designed to support your well-being, growth, and balance:

  • Hybrid Schedule HQ team members work in the office two days a week during core days (Tuesday–Thursday), with Tuesday company-wide. Come in more often if you'd like—our office is open and inviting.

Why Join Us?

At our core, we're a team that values authenticity, passion, and genuine connection. We've cultivated a culture where friendly, welcoming, and driven people thrive together—fueling an environment that's collaborative and refreshingly low-ego. The people you work with make all the difference, and we protect this culture fiercely.

We believe hard work and well-being go hand in hand. Here, recharging isn't just encouraged—it's essential. Our day starts at 10 a.m., we take real vacations, and we wrap up early on "Summer Fridays" year-round. Time spent connecting with teammates is just as important as time spent unplugging to get a great night's sleep.

Growth is in our DNA. As the company expands, we're committed to creating meaningful opportunities for our team to learn, lead, and make an impact.

Hybrid work? Absolutely. Our flexible in-office schedule supports your rhythm, with two in-office days per week and space to collaborate, ideate, or just grab a coffee and vibe.

But don't just take our word for it—Brooklinen has been named to LinkedIn Top Startups, Inc.'s Best Workplaces, and Forbes Best Startup Employers in America. We're just getting started, and we'd love for you to be a part of what's next.
