Technical Support Engineer – Cloud Broadcast Systems
Broadcast Management Group (BMG) is a leading global broadcast production company providing managed services to major broadcast networks, corporations, and studios. BMG is at the forefront of live production innovation, leveraging its Cloud Control Center™ to deliver agile, cloud-based content operations across Media Asset Management (MAM), Master Control, Playout, and related hybrid/cloud workflows.
We are seeking a Technical Support Engineer – Cloud Broadcast Systems to join our MAM & Master Control Cloud team. This role is responsible for deploying, operating, and supporting cloud and hybrid broadcast environments. The engineer will handle media asset management, ingest, playout, and master control systems, ensuring reliable operation during setup, live events, and post-event support. While prior experience with Grass Valley's AMPP® platform is a plus, we are looking for someone with strong technical foundations in cloud broadcast, OTT, and VOD systems who can adapt quickly and support clients in mission-critical environments.
Essential Functions:
- Deploy and configure broadcast environments across cloud, hybrid, and on-premise infrastructures.
- Support technical operations for media asset management, playout automation, and master control workflows.
- Provide hands-on technical assistance during system setup, live productions, and after-broadcast troubleshooting.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to servers, networking, storage, and integrations.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure reliable performance and system scalability.
- Support integrations with broadcast tools, OTT platforms, and VOD systems.
- Document workflows, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
- Train and assist clients and internal teams on technical operations.
- Monitor system health and contribute to continuous improvements in reliability and efficiency.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of technical experience in broadcast, OTT, VOD, or related environments.
- Strong understanding of Media Asset Management, playout, and master control operations.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or hybrid deployments).
- Hands-on experience with live streaming protocols (SRT, RIST, NDI, SMPTE 2110, SDI).
- Ability to troubleshoot video/audio systems and integrations with third-party platforms.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communicator, able to work across technical and client-facing teams.
- Flexible schedule to support live event operations outside regular hours.
- Experience with Grass Valley AMPP® or similar cloud-native broadcast platforms is preferred but not required.
