Area Vice President Of Operations

The Area Vice President (AVP) of Operations oversees and manages the day-to-day operations of an assigned geography of branches for Home Health. Responsible for ensuring efficient and effective processes are in place to meet financial and operational objectives and drive operational excellence. This includes managing budgets, analyzing data to identify areas for improvement, implementing strategies to optimize operations, and leading a team of executive Directors, Administrators and staff to achieve operational goals. The AVP of Operations works closely with senior leadership and the RVP to align operational activities with overall business strategies and objectives. This position will provide support across our Texas, Colorado, Indiana, and portions of the West Tennessee territories.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with Regional Vice President of Operations and Finance to plan, and execute the company's budgeted revenue goals
  • Collaborating with other business functions such as Sales, Clinical Operations, HR and Finance to ensure business and financial goals are achieved
  • Working closely with clinical leadership to ensure appropriate quality standards are met for the identified branches
  • Monitoring changing business needs and implementing actions to resolve and address those identified needs
  • Identifying operations that are not performing to standard and developing and implementing plans of corrective action
  • Ensuring that employees in the area understand and adhere to compliance, regulatory and Company processes, procedures, and regulations
  • Developing positive and trusting relationships with local leaders and communities we serve
  • Consulting with the RVP of Operations in budget/financial goals for the operating area
  • Consulting with the RVP of Operations in determining operational risk factors and contribute to the creation of relevant mitigation plans
  • Participating and contributing to the annual budgeting process for the HH Division for the respective area of responsibility
  • Holding leaders (operations) and teams accountable for the achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual budgets and business / clinical quality goals
  • Providing leadership, mentoring, coaching and development to direct reports
  • Responsible for reporting on plans and achievement of business, admission and clinical / quality goals to division President and Company CEO
  • Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring and training of direct reports
  • Monitoring turnover in the area of responsibility. Ensuring proper hiring, training and development of newly hired staff. Working closely with support departments to achieve
  • Routine collaboration with payer contracting to negotiate the strongest contracts
  • Monitoring metrics proactively to effect change in a positive direction before month end
  • Collaborate with business partners and use appropriate resources to accurately forecast monthly admissions/growth
  • Assigned territory and area of operation can change based on business need

Qualifications include:

  • Degree in health administration or related field
  • Eight + years experience with Multi-site management experience in a home health, hospice or related health program
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse or other clinical license preferred
