About The Role

As a Mechatronics Engineering Intern at Bright Machines, you will be a critical hands-on contributor to the creation of Bright Machines robotics systems.

As a member of our team, you will help validate and improve novel solutions to unsolved problems in industrial automation. You will function as a T-shaped engineer, with a focus in robotics software, electrical, or mechanical design. What You Will Be Doing

  • Working with other team members to investigate new designs, prototype new systems, and evaluate technical feasibility in the Robotics Lab.
  • Designing, executing, and documenting test plans to validate and improve state-of-the-art software and hardware.

What We Want To See

  • Pursuing a BS/MS in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Electrical, Industrial Engineering (or demonstrated equivalency or pursuing related degrees)
  • Strong communication skills and attention to process detail.
  • Experience in interpreting data, analyzing results, and communicating through visualizations.
  • Experience with programming and applied math. (for example: Python, Matlab, C++, Structured Text)
  • Examples of personal or professional projects showing your problem-solving approach.

It Would Be Great If You Had

  • Basic experience in motion planning and controls.
  • Experience programming robots.
  • Design team experience. (for example: Formula SAE, robotics clubs, etc.)
  • Mechanical design/build experience for fixtures.
  • Experience with metrology, kinematics, and precision mechanisms.
