Bus Tire Service Technician

Join a team that keeps the city moving. We're looking for hands-on, mechanically minded individuals to become Bus Tire Service Technicians — essential players in keeping our city's transit fleet running safely and efficiently.

In this role, you'll get hands-on with some of the biggest tires in the business. Your work will directly support public safety and keep the transit buses ready.

Work hours: Sunday - Thursday 6:30pm - 3:00am

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

  • Mount, balance, rotate, and repair large transit bus tires.
  • Maintain tire equipment and tools — we count on you to keep things running smoothly.
  • Load and unload tires and related materials.
  • Keeping the work area clean and hazard-free — safety is always first.
  • Participate in team meetings and stay up to date on procedures.
  • Write up scrap tires and prepare them for removal.
  • Complete documentation and service logs accurately and on time.
  • Use personal protective equipment and follow all safety protocols.
  • Achieve 100% monthly bus and van inspections.
  • Perform safety checklist and inventory count on a monthly basis
  • Tackle other tasks as needed — there's always something to learn.

What it takes:

We're looking for someone who's not afraid to get their hands dirty and thrives in a fast-paced, physically active environment.

Physical demands:

  • Frequent bending, lifting, and moving tires over 50 pounds (and pushing with over 100 lbs. of force).
  • Exposure to heat in summer, cold in winter, and common cleaning or lubrication chemicals.
  • Comfortable working with tools and machines in a shop environment.

Path to progression:

Full TIA Certification Pathway Provided: Gain recognized credentials paid for by us. TIA (Tire Industry Association) certification is a formal credentialing program aimed at raising technical standards among tire service professionals.

  • Earn TIA Level 2 Certification within 2 weeks of hire.
  • Complete TIA Level 3 Certification within 2 years.
