Job Description: The US SEO & Content Marketing Lead will oversee SEO and public site content strategy, driving visibility, engagement, and growth across all TD business lines. Reporting directly to the Head of US Growth Marketing, this role oversees the development, delivery, and optimization of enterprise SEO initiatives. This role will oversee SEO and content programs supporting multiple US business lines and manage a seven-figure capabilities portfolio of vendor and agency partnerships. As a strategic partner to the leadership team and key subject matter expert, this role will help define TD's SEO & AI-Search strategy to help TD succeed in a rapidly evolving search landscape. The role requires deep collaboration with Canadian Center of Excellence teams, product marketing, design, analytics, governance, and external agencies to align SEO and content efforts with enterprise priorities by integrating advancements in generative AI, structured data, and schema optimization. This leader will manage two direct reports and oversee vendor relationships with external partners (Conductor, Yext, etc.) in addition to managing agency partners and internal content resources. The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with strong stakeholder management, digital fluency, and people leadership to deliver high-impact SEO and content initiatives. Other responsibilities include building internal and external relationships, driving operational excellence and delivering clear POVs on digital trends.

Depth & Scope:

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
  • Oversees and leads a large and/or highly complex and diverse reporting function for an area of significant risk, complexity or scope while growing talent, developing skills and capabilities to achieve career goals, support project/initiative success and achieve business results
  • Manages and oversees the overall discipline and strategy for the respective areas while aligning to the enterprise best practices
  • Provides coaching, mentorship and guidance to practitioners, business, executives within area of expertise
  • Acts as a strategic partner to leadership team on the management of the portfolio and financials, with deep industry, external/internal, enterprise knowledge, recognizing and anticipating emerging trends and; identifying operational efficiencies and opportunities with other business management/enterprise areas
  • Facilitates key strategic discussions and provides thought leadership to executive audience (output may include strategic roadmap and/or deliverables/frameworks/short to long term goals, etc.)
  • Sets operational team direction and collaborates with others to execute on common goals
  • Focuses on longer-range planning for functional area (e.g. 12 months or greater)

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree and/or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required
  • 10+ years relevant experience
  • Advanced knowledge of multiple marketing disciplines, strategy development, consulting principles, lines of businesses supported, banking industry, and product/customer markets
  • Knowledge of current and emerging competitor and market trends
  • Knowledge of risk management environment, standards and regulations
  • Ability to contribute to strategic direction of the function and provide advice to senior leadership
  • Ability to forecast initiatives and demand in order to develop annual strategic plan
  • Skill in managing budgets, P&L and resource allocation
  • Advanced ability to lead, plan, implement and evaluate program/project activities to ensure completion of product initiatives
  • Skill in talent development and performance management

  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with proficiency in data interpretation and storytelling.
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional SEO and content teams, establishing priorities and operational direction to achieve growth and visibility objectives.
  • Ability to facilitate key strategic discussions and provide thought leadership to executive audiences, including the development of strategic roadmaps, frameworks, and long-term goals.
  • Experience building AI-search-forward roadmaps, anticipating the impact of emerging technologies (e.g., Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT Search) and evolving consumer search behaviors.
  • Track record of delivering measurable improvements in organic visibility, traffic quality, and conversion performance for large-scale public sites.
  • Experience managing vendor and agency relationships.
  • Skilled in leading contract negotiations and renewals with external partners and technology vendors, ensuring favorable terms and alignment with strategic and financial objectives.
  • Track record of developing growth strategies that result in tangible business outcomes
  • Self-motivated and intellectually curious, with a passion for learning new tools and technologies
  • Experience working in financial services or regulated industries preferred but not required

Customer Accountabilities:

  • Defines and builds best-in-class digital marketing capabilities, including the enablement of end-customer personalization and/or line of business optimization
  • Manages internal partner/business relationship strategy to enable collaboration with and leverage capabilities of other enterprise functions, driving alignment among relevant stakeholders
  • Manages/leads external partner/vendor relationships to achieve strategic objectives and/or project fulfilment, including interaction model, budgetary considerations, and relevant risk/compliance requirements
  • Synthesizes and communicates broad view of market and/or industry changes that affect the digital marketing space
  • Manages and delivers digital marketing innovation opportunities via active monitoring of industry trends and/or evolving regulatory environment
  • May also be responsible for building, owning, executing, and improving best-in-class automation technologies in fulfilment of digital marketing and/or business line objectives
  • Acts as a subject matter expert, internal and external, in all digital marketing channels, providing input/thought leadership on brand, business/customer strategy, planning functions, analytics, and/or consumer research
