Physician Specialty Coder

We're looking for a motivated Physician Specialty Coder to join the Shared Services Center team, focusing on our surgical and multi-specialty teams. In this role, you'll manage the complex review of charges with department clinicians and contacts to ensure the timely and compliant submission of charges. In addition, you will work with the Billing teams to ensure that daily workflow is complete and that all assignments are reviewed, submitted and resolved with the highest degree of accuracy, including highly complex submissions. This position is full time remote eligible from any state except CA, with expected work hours between 6:00a – 5:00p Eastern.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs complex ICD-10 and CPT review and validation or ASA coding for assigned specialty/surgical departments.
• Establishes and maintains working relationships with Physicians and staff in order to resolve specific case issues, as well as to answer general questions/concerns.
• Participates in coding and reimbursement training programs, providing instruction and education to staff on accurate charge entry and medical record documentation.
• Develops and maintains professional skills and participates in professional organizations and stays current on all coding reimbursement rules, regulations, trends and new developments.
• Acts as a resource for the Shared Service Center and provides assistance with complex billing/coding systems and payment issues.
• Performs other tasks and projects as requested, including procedural documentation, participation in quality and operational improvement processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma / GED required. Associates degree preferred.
• Experience: 4 years of Physician Coding experience with at least 2 of those years within a specialty, surgical, or multi-specialty focus.
• Licensure/Certifications: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required.

Pay Range: $69888.00-$111831.20 Annual
