Director Of Sales

As Director of Sales, you will lead the property’s sales strategy and drive performance across all revenue-generating segments. Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with Pyramid’s regional sales and revenue leaders, you will balance direct selling with team leadership. This is a hands-on, results-driven role on the Executive Committee, with responsibility for maximizing business travel, group, and catering revenue in one of Boston’s most competitive markets. We’re supporting a major repositioning effort at Wyndham Boston Beacon Hill, an established property undergoing a full renovation, rebranding to a Hilton’s Tapestry Collection, and strategic shift in market identity. This is a unique opportunity for a sales leader to step into a high-visibility project and play a central role in redefining the hotel’s presence in Boston’s core urban market. The incoming Director of Sales will partner directly with corporate leadership throughout the renovation timeline, drive a new commercial strategy, and help relaunch the property as a Tapestry Collection hotel, positioning, and performance expectations. Ideal for a creative, forward-thinking leader excited by change-management, pre-opening style work, and repositioning an urban asset in one of Boston’s most competitive markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all sales activities for the hotel, with focus on group, business travel, and catering segments.
  • Develop and execute an annual Sales Business Plan aligned with hotel revenue goals.
  • Proactively solicit new accounts through prospecting, site visits, tradeshows, and relationship development.
  • Maintain and grow existing accounts, particularly in the corporate, medical, and group segments.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Management to deploy effective yield strategies and optimize market mix.
  • Lead, train, and mentor the sales team, setting performance goals and holding team members accountable.
  • Build strong community and market partnerships, including with MGH, area universities, and Boston tourism organizations.
  • Deliver clear reporting to ownership and corporate leadership, with actionable insights to guide strategy.
  • Actively participate as a member of the Executive Committee, contributing to the hotel’s overall business planning and success.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive hotel sales experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role (Associate/Director of Sales or Senior Sales Manager) at a full-service branded hotel.
  • Proven success driving business travel, group, and catering revenues in competitive urban markets; Boston/New England experience strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on leader with a strong track record in direct selling and account development.
  • Proficiency in hotel sales systems (Delphi/FDC required), and familiarity with PMS and RMS platforms.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
  • High-energy, driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced, competitive sales environment.
