The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and internal pay comparison. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Now, our Annual Giving team is looking for an Associate Director to lead the strategy, execution, and management of Boston University Advancement's direct mail and email fundraising efforts its largest donor and revenue channels while coordinating with internal partners, overseeing key campaigns like Giving Day, and ensuring alignment with broader institutional goals.
Each year, alumni, students, parents, and friends choose to support everything from softballs to software at BU. These gifts are then deployed to fund research, provide emergency student assistance, pay for travel to academic conferences, and lots more throughout the year.
The Associate Director, Direct Marketing, is a key member of the Annual Giving team. The Associate Director oversees direct mail, which is Annual Giving’s largest revenue and donor generator. The Associate Director also oversees Annual Giving’s email strategy and execution. The position is responsible for executing and helping to develop the direct mail and email strategy for alumni, leadership donors, and parents; constituencies that total more than 300,000 prospects. The position also manages relationships with Boston University's 16 school/college partners and is tasked with communicating and handling feedback about Annual Giving marketing efforts. The position also manages relationships with special constituencies and helps them execute smaller direct mail appeals. As a critical member of the Annual Giving team, the Associate Director has leadership responsibilities and is expected to have a comprehensive understanding of Boston University's overall objectives, goals, and marketing strategies and translate these into actionable strategies and tactics for the direct marketing program. The Associate Director will also act as the project manager for multiple Boston University initiatives, including Boston University's annual Giving Day. The position has programmatic goal and budget maintenance responsibilities.
