Position Overview

The Senior Strategic Account Manager for the Nordic region is responsible for developing and expanding relationships with key public healthcare institutions. This role manages a select portfolio of strategic accounts, ensuring the achievement of sales targets and long-term account objectives. The position oversees the negotiation and implementation of multi-year contracts that address complex customer needs while supporting the company's profitable growth.

Acting as the primary representative for Boston Scientific's products and solutions, the Senior Strategic Account Manager leads account planning and ensures customer requirements are met. The role is pivotal in navigating regional public procurement processes, shaping tender strategies across divisions, and supporting therapy adoption initiatives in collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders. Success in this client-facing position requires expertise in the healthcare ecosystem, experience with regional tenders, and a proven ability to drive value-based healthcare initiatives within large accounts.

Additionally, the Senior Strategic Account Manager is a member of the Country Leadership Team (CLT).

Key Responsibilities

This position is tasked with driving strategic account management collaboration across the company's six different business divisions within the cluster to ensure there is a single coherent solution and engagement strategy in place for these key customers.

Establish professional relationships internally and within assigned key customers, develop and reinforce relationships at C-Suite level.

Proactively assessing, clarifying and validating customer needs and strategic objectives on an ongoing basis.

Proactively leads the strategic account mapping and planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets and critical milestones for a mid-term period.

Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years' experience in strategic account management.

Demonstrated experience with public procurement, tender processes, or government affairs in the healthcare sector in the various countries of the Nordic region.

Proven ability to navigate and influence complex stakeholder environments.

Strategic thinker with a pragmatic, results-driven approach to long-term customer engagement.

Lead cross divisional and cross functional contract negotiations involving all company products – enabling practical inclusion of value-adds and realization of savings including product innovation and services & solutions.

Co-ordinate involvement of Boston's divisions and functions within the focus accounts in order to meet account performance objectives and customer expectations.

Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts.

Participate in regular reviews of top accounts, at a Country, Cluster and European level. Track growth and Market Share in top accounts vs other accounts and sales in top accounts versus plan.

Act as an ambassador of the Solutions initiative and of Outcomes Selling within the company.

Promote BSC innovation and drive whole system value of key technologies.

Partner with Healthcare Economics and Market Access team to monitor reimbursement trends, develop and execute the approach to include new technologies and maintain BSC products in the reimbursement system.
