As a Quality Engineering Intern, your job is the most important in ensuring patient safety and quality of care. The Quality Engineer develops, establishes, and maintains quality engineering methodologies, systems, and practices which meet BSC, customer, and regulatory requirements. You will serve as a Quality representative for quality initiatives to support departmental, functional, site, divisional, and corporate quality goals and priorities. You will provide focused quality engineering support in a fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing environment and work cross-functionally to improve the manufacturing process. You will build relationships with professionals in a diverse range of fields, inspiring people to embrace a culture of continuous improvement. Your Responsibilities:

  • Act as an effective leader or team member in supporting quality disciplines, decisions, and practices.
  • Apply sound, systematic problem-solving methodologies in identifying, prioritizing, communicating, and resolving quality issues.
  • Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design, develop, and sustain processes, procedures, tooling, and equipment for first in class medical devices
  • Assure in the development and execution of streamlined business systems which effectively identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Collaborate and gain experience from a diverse cross-functional team
  • Gain better understanding by applying academic knowledge to a real-world problem set
  • Improve patient lives around the world every day
  • Value Improvement Projects (VIPs) such as yield improvements, process improvements, and materials cost savings allow Boston Scientific to re-invest the savings into new products to fund company growth
  • Use design for manufacturing principles to develop tooling and equipment for manufacturing lines for new products
  • Create inspections or inspection systems to ensure products meet critical requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Must graduate between Fall 2026 and Spring 2027
  • Must have at least one semester of school left post-internship
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • Must be able to commit to one of the following full internship program periods: May 18th – August 7th OR May 26th – August 14th
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the Arden Hills, MN Boston Scientific Corporate location
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques and statistical analysis
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clear written and verbal communication of complex data and processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various cross-functional teams
  • Self-starter with the ability to identify improvement opportunities and passion to learn new technologies and find new solutions.
